NK: North Korea

1. NK(North Korea) had made Pyongyang-Time, not the standard-time.

NK created 'Pyongyang-Time', and Use it for 3years(2015~2018).

'Pyongyang-Time' is 30 minutes slower than the standard time.

2. Cost to Escape from North Korea.
Cost to Escape from North Korea, so-called '탈북[tar:book]cost' is 8000$.
The average annual income of North Koreans is 1800$


3. North Korea rarely uses Chinese characters(漢字[Hànzì]).

NK is almost a soul mate with China, but NK has abolished the use of Chinese characters 漢字. 漢字 are used much more in South Korea, a U.S. ally than in NK.


4. The illiteracy rate: 0%
The illiteracy rate in North Korea is 0 percent. North Korea has long campaigned for the eradication of illiteracy, for the sake of thought education and instigation.


5. Marijuana is a popular product in NK.

In North Korea, marijuana is not classified as a drug. Marijuana is fairly popular product, and the main customers are soldiers. In NK, you can easily find people smoking marijuana on the street.

6. North Korean teenagers love BTS.
"Do you know 'BTS'?" = "Do you know '*a bulletproof bag'?"
North Korean teenagers enjoy the culture of South Korea being smuggled in through China. Of course, It's illegal to enjoy South Korean culture in North Korea. There is a South Korean cultural monitoring organization, '109 상무[sangmu]'. North Korean teenagers call BTS a bulletproof bag in order not to be arrested by '109 상무.'
(*'BTS' = '방탄[BangTan] boys', 방탄[BangTan] means Bulletproof.)
